Hi, Gang!  know, I know… another Golden Milk recipe… but I pinky promise this is the best one yet! First of all, it’s a frappe, which automatically makes me think of that great scene at the gas station in ‘Zoolander’ (if you haven’t seen it, please do so immediately– homework assignment). Second, this Golden Milk concoction is also Keto friendly!

Sayyy whatt?

Yep, that’s been my hang up with a lot of Golden Milk drinks available for purchase, even at the freshest of smoothie joints. I am crazy about all of the anti-inflammatory benefits derived from the Turmeric, but not a big fan of the extra sweeteners typically added, like agave nectar or honey. So I decided to take this gig into my own hands, kinda sorta. I used Gaia Herb’s Golden Milk Blend, which contains less than 1 gram of sugar, and then mixed everything else up in my kitchen! Also, this stuff is a total timer saving hack! Sorry, wish I had all day to hang out in the kitchen, but just not the reality. Sigh.

If possible, I highly recommend using organic full fat coconut milk as the frappe’s base. Not only does this help give your frappe a super creamy consistency, it’s full of vitamins, minerals, and of course– Medium Chain Triglycerides (a Keto gal’s fav!).

Total process for this Keto frappe took about 5 minutes, start to clean up. I’m big fan of quick and easy over here ; )

There are endless potential benefits for utilizing Turmeric and drinking Golden Milk, which is perhaps why it is sometimes referred to as the “spice of life”! In a nutshell, Turmeric is derived Curcumin, and is one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatories available. It’s also shown evidence in one study to be successful in lowering blood sugar. This is is some powerful stuff, y’all! If you’re interested in a much more thorough breakdown about why Golden Milk and Turmeric are so amazing for your bod– check out this post here

Here’s the recipe!

Ingredients (I’m not super technical in the kitchen so feel free to adjust to your taste preferences):

  1. 1/4 can of Organic Full fat Coconut Milk
  2. 2 tsp. of Gaia Herb’s Golden Milk Blend
  3. 3-4 drops of liquid organic stevia (more or less depending on how sweet you like it)
  4. handful of ice
  5. a sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions:

Just blend together! Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top and enjoy!

xo,

Tina
